Scherzer's Daughter's Blue Jays Letter

After Scherzer agreed to a $3 million, one-year contract to return to the Blue Jays, his wife posted on Instagram the handwritten note from their daughter, Brooke. The letter, written while she was composing her wish list to Santa, expressed the family's love for Toronto and her hope that her dad would return to the team.

Scherzer revealed that he and his wife didn't send the letter to the Blue Jays, joking that it would be a 'bad negotiating tactic.' The pitcher wanted to return to Toronto after the team came close to winning the World Series last season, saying 'this team can win' and he wanted to be part of it. Scherzer, who dealt with a thumb injury much of last year, said he feels healthy and is on schedule for the start of the season.
