Pavan Discharged After Elevator Shaft Fall

Italian golfer Andrea Pavan has been discharged from the hospital in South Africa, just one week after falling three stories down an elevator shaft during the Investec South African Open.

Andrea Pavan, who suffered multiple injuries including fractures to several vertebrae after falling down an elevator shaft last week, has been released from the hospital. The 36-year-old Italian golfer underwent successful surgeries on his shoulder and back and will remain in South Africa for approximately five more weeks of rehabilitation.

Pavan expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support he received, with a GoFundMe campaign raising over $81,000 for his recovery. While it remains unclear when he will return to competitive golf, Pavan expressed relief at being able to walk and perform basic activities, calling his recovery "truly feels like a miracle."
