Jones Set for UFC White House Event

Jon Jones looks certain to headline the UFC's White House event, potentially facing Alex Pereira in what would be an incredible turnaround after Dana White previously called the chances 'billion-to-one.'

Despite Dana White previously stating the odds were 'billion-to-one' that Jon Jones would be on the UFC's White House card, it now appears Jones will indeed compete at the event. The former heavyweight champion is in negotiations to face Alex Pereira, who vacated the light heavyweight title this past weekend.

The fight could potentially be for the interim heavyweight title, given the uncertainty surrounding Tom Aspinall's return. Jones, who retired in June before unretiring upon learning of the White House event, is positioned as the only American fighter with sufficient star power to headline what's being billed as a celebration of American independence.
