Flamengo announced the dismissal of former Chelsea defender and manager Filipe Luis at 00:59 local time, just hours after the club's 8‑0 second‑leg victory over Madureira that secured a place in the Campeonato Carioca final.

Luis, who led Flamengo to seven titles in 100 matches, including the 2025 Copa Libertadores, also guided the club to the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup last‑16 and won the 2019 and 2022 Libertadores as a player.
