Ehlers Hat Trick Lifts Hurricanes Past Canucks

Nikolaj Ehlers recorded a hat trick, including an empty-net goal with 14 seconds remaining, to lift the Carolina Hurricanes to a 6-4 victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday.

The Hurricanes (39-16-6) received goals from Sean Walker, Andrei Svechnikov and Sebastian Aho in addition to Ehlers' three tallies. Seth Jarvis added two assists while Brandon Bussi stopped 18 of 22 shots.

The Canucks (18-36-7), who have just two wins in their last 23 games (2-17-4), received goals from Filip Hronek, Marco Rossi, Brock Boeser and Nils Hoglander. Elias Pettersson recorded two helpers for Vancouver.
