Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle finally gets Netflix streaming date, over a year after releasing in theaters
Sometimes good things really do come to those who wait, and for fans of Tanjiro Kamado, they’re finally set to be rewarded. After Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle was released in theaters last year and finally started streaming on Crunchyroll this July, the epic anime movie will stream on Netflix from September 28. Hurrah!
The streaming service announced online over the weekend that the first movie in the Infinity Castle trilogy, directed by Haruo Sotozaki, will be available this month. Following the fourth season of Demon Slayer, Infinity Castle adapts the arc of the same name from the manga series, which originally ran from 2016 to 2020. The insanely epic chapter sees the Demon Slayer Corps go up against their greatest foe, who looks lethal in a white fedora: Muzan Kibutsuji, and he's dishing out more Upper Moon demons than he knows what to do with. cat-cross.com
Earning a frankly bonkers $793.5 million at the box office, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle was a massive hit, becoming the most successful international film in the U.S. (take that, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) and the most successful film based on an animated television series after The Simpsons Movie. It also nabbed a nearly perfect score of 98% on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics all praising the big-screen outing. In our Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle review, we called it "Demon Slayer’s best adventure yet."
Giving this another watch will thankfully keep us distracted while we wait for further confirmation on Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle 2, which still has no announced release date. All eyes are on 2027, making space for the film somewhere and getting us closer to rounding out this trilogy that might take forever to finish.
Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle streams on Netflix from September 28. Get up to speed with our guide on how to watch Demon Slayer in order.
Lanterns fans have a compelling theory that another Manhunter is hiding in plain sight in Rushville
Lanterns episode 5 finally confirmed the identity of the Manhunter hiding out in Rushville. But given there are still three episodes to go, fans aren't convinced that the Manhunter threat is over.
Warning: full spoilers for Lanterns episode 5 follow!
After all but confirming it last week, Lanterns episode 5 makes it clear as a crystal heart that Zoe Macon is the mysterious Manhunter who's been pulling the strings from behind the scenes in Rushville. By the end of the episode, however, the Manhunter is dead, after John Stewart shoots the shapeshifter in the head and removes its heart.
Mission accomplished, right? Not exactly. Episode 5 features several clues that could point to the existence of a second Manhunter, created by Zoe during her time on Earth. And fans think the second Manhunter in question is none other than Zoe's grandson, Noah.
Noah is, of course, Sheriff Kerry's son and has been a conspicuous presence since the first episode, where we learn he's still around and playing college football during the 2026 flash-forward. In episode 5, it's shown that the Manhunter saved Kerry from Gotham gangsters who pursued her to Rushville. Kerry later confesses to Hal Jordan that she's known the identity of the Manhunter all along, revealing that Zoe gave her a "miracle." Now, this could simply mean that Zoe saved Kerry's life by helping fake her death and keeping the gangsters off her back, but children born following difficulties to conceive are often referred to as "miracles," which has led some to believe that Zoe gave Kerry and Billy their son, Noah.
This is further backed up by the Manhunter's advanced alien technology, with which she's able to cure cancer, generate an entirely new layer of skin for John Stewart after he's burned alive, and seemingly eradicate all illness from Rushville (it certainly explains why the hospital is empty). The idea that Zoe could create a new lifeform, potentially even another Manhunter, is well within the realm of possibility.
Taken to its logical extreme, this could mean that Noah is responsible for Hal Jordan's death in 2026. If Hal were to learn that Noah is a Manhunter, that would give him reason to return to Rushville. Given his fondness for Sheriff Kerry, there's no doubt he'd hesitate when it comes to Noah, even if he is a Manhunter, which could be what ultimately costs him his life.
Of course, this is all wild theorizing for now, but it's speculation we can get behind as Lanterns heads into uncharted territory following an explosive fifth episode that felt more like a season finale than a mid-season chapter. With only three episodes left to go, there's not long till the truth is revealed.

Spanish GP plans to change Madring after fierce criticism from F1 drivers
New track for Spanish GP frustrated drivers and fans
McLaren’s Stella: ‘It’s impossible to attempt overtaking’
Discussions are already under way to change the layout of Formula One’s newest circuit after driver condemnation of the Madring during its inaugural grand prix. The race in Madrid was won by Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli, but it was notable for being a procession with overtakes failing to reach double digits over 57 laps. Drivers were left frustrated and disappointed at an opportunity that had been lost, resulting in a chorus of criticism.
“I don’t know how someone looks at this design and goes ‘mint’,” said the defending world champion, Lando Norris, who finished third. “There’s a lot of opportunity. They can make it into a track that’s good for racing and I’m excited to come back here next year if they can make these changes.
