Vikings Trade QB J.J. McCarthy to Giants

Vikings General Manager Nolan Teasley explained the decision to move on from the 2024 first-round pick, who served as third-string quarterback. McCarthy did not request a trade, but Teasley believed making the move was "the best path forward and the best decision" for the organization.

Teasley acknowledged that McCarthy has potential to continue developing in the NFL but won't be doing so in Minnesota. The Vikings received a 2027 fifth-round pick in exchange, which Teasley called an asset that could potentially help the team this season. esporist.com
