USL, Players Ratify New CBA with Higher Salaries

The United Soccer League and Players Association have ratified a new collective bargaining agreement, increasing player salaries and implementing 12-month contracts.

The USL and USL Players Association announced the ratification of a new CBA for two levels of the organization's pyramid on Friday. The agreement includes terms for both the first-division USL Premier and the second-division USL Championship, with new terms taking effect immediately and running through 2030.

Key provisions include the introduction of 12-month contracts for players, a first in US lower divisions. Championship players will see their base compensation increase from $31,000 to $42,000 in 2026, with annual raises thereafter. The upcoming USL Premier will launch in 2028 with 12-month contracts and a minimum salary of $67,500, also with annual increases built into the agreement. tbzikra.com
