Scotland and England fans face 'second mortgages' as World Cup train fares soar

MBTA has announced round-trip tickets from Boston to the World Cup venue will cost $80, four times the usual price, sparking outrage among fans.

The inflated fares will impact Scotland's matches against Haiti and Morocco, as well as England's game against Ghana. Tickets go on sale on Wednesday, but are limited and non-refundable. Paul Goodwin of the Scottish Football Supporters Association described the increase as "totally out of order," warning fans might take on debt to attend. With stadium parking starting at $175, travel costs are becoming a major barrier.
