Schauffele's Ball Lands in Merchandise Bag at Masters

Xander Schauffele's tee shot on the par-5 eighth hole at the Masters landed in a spectator's merchandise bag Thursday, but the golfer was able to play on without penalty and made par.

AUGUSTA, Ga. — Schauffele marked the ball with a tee, removed it from the merchandise bag, and handed the bag to a woman in a pink and white outfit before continuing play. The unusual incident didn't affect his performance as he completed the front nine in 1 under par.

Schauffele faced some challenges on the ninth hole, with his tee shot landing in pine straw and his second shot finding a bunker. However, he recovered by splashing out to within inches of the hole.
