Sanders, Watson to start preseason games

Cleveland Browns coach Todd Monken announced that Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson will each start a preseason game, continuing the competition that began during training camp. Monken stated that the next week will determine who starts the August 15 game at Chicago and who starts the August 22 home game against the Bills.

The likely starter will begin the final preseason game on August 27 against the Patriots. Watson has played only 19 games since arriving in Cleveland in 2022 and hasn't played since October 2024 due to two Achilles tears.
