Rockies Sign Catcher Andrew Knizner

The Colorado Rockies bolstered their catching depth for 2026 by signing veteran Andrew Knizner to a minor league contract. Knizner, a seven-year MLB veteran, was released by the Seattle Mariners after spring training.

He owns a career .596 OPS with 19 home runs and has played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Texas Rangers, and San Francisco Giants. Knizner has over five years of service time, giving him the ability to opt out of a minor league assignment if a clear path to the majors isn't provided.
