NBA Fines Blazers, Suspends Two Asst. GMs

The NBA has fined the Portland Trail Blazers $100,000 and suspended assistant general managers Mike Schmitz and Sergi Oliva for illegal contact with Yang Hansen prior to the 2025 NBA draft.

The penalties stem from improper contact with Yang Hansen two years ago, before the 2025 NBA draft, according to Shams Charania of ESPN. The league's investigation revealed violations of NBA rules regarding pre-draft communications with draft prospects.

Schmitz and Oliva, who serve as assistant general managers for the Trail Blazers, will be suspended for an unspecified period. The $100,000 fine is the monetary penalty levied against the organization for the violation of league policies.
