The 140km fifth stage featured eight climbs and 2,850 meters of elevation gain, traversing renowned wine appellations from Saint-Amour to Villié-Morgon. At 30km from the finish, Vollering accelerated on the difficult slopes of the Col de Durbize, causing French rider Pauline Ferrand-Prévot to crack. In the final climb up Mont Brouilly (3km at 7.7%), Vollering couldn't shake off Reusser and Niewiadoma, with the three finishing together before the Dutch rider secured the stage win in the sprint. Marlen Reusser retains the yellow jersey heading into the next stage. sport-ipl.my
