Commanders Hire Riggins, Green for New Roles

Washington Commanders announce Hall of Famers John Riggins and Darrell Green will join the team in new capacities this season.

John Riggins will join the Commanders' preseason broadcast crew and be involved in special events. The team also announced that Riggins' No. 44 jersey will be retired this season.

Darrell Green will work in community outreach, specifically focusing on getting fans and civic leaders on board with the new domed stadium planned for the former RFK Stadium site. The Commanders plan to move into the new stadium for the 2030 season. afrikasportnews.co.za
