Brewers' Pat Murphy Trades Pancakes for Tortoise in TV Mix‑up

Brewers manager Pat Murphy was caught eating a pancake from his hoodie pocket during a televised dugout interview, then swapped it for a Sulcata tortoise in a later Apple TV pre‑game chat.

During a nationally televised dugout interview in August, Brewers manager Pat Murphy was seen taking a pancake from the pocket of his hoodie. The clip went viral and the team later sold “Murph’s Pocket Pancakes” at home games.

When the Brewers were set to play the Royals on Apple TV, Murphy told reporter Tricia Whitaker that no pocket pancakes were allowed, so he presented a Sulcata tortoise named “Bobby Jr.” The animal was kept in the visiting clubhouse and will not travel with the team.
