Brewers' Koenig to IL with elbow sprain

Koenig, who has been an effective reliever for the Brewers with a 2.67 ERA over 127 games, noticed decreased velocity during spring training and felt more discomfort in his last outing. The team will attempt to rehab the injury without surgery, with hopes he could return in two to four weeks.

To replace Koenig, the Brewers have called up left-handed pitcher Shane Drohan from Class AAA. Drohan, who was acquired from Boston in the Caleb Durbin trade, may make his MLB debut during the series at Fenway Park, though he downplayed any significance of facing his former team.
