Badosa earns Linz Open wild card after Charleston run

Spanish star Paula Badosa was granted a wild‑card to the inaugural Linz Open after reaching the last 16 at the Charleston Open, boosting her chances to climb back into the top 100.

Paula Badosa impressed at the Charleston Open, capturing back‑to‑back victories over Kayla Day and Maria Sakkari before falling in straight sets to Anna Kalinskaya in the round of 16. The performance lifted her from outside the top 100 and earned her a wild‑card for the WTA 250 event in Linz, Austria, scheduled for April 6‑12.

With only a handful of top‑40 players in the draw and several withdrawals, the Linz Open offers Badosa a valuable opportunity to string together strong matches, defend no points, and push her ranking back toward the top 100.
