Andy Reid: Josh Simmons has 'more lead in his pants'

Chiefs coach Andy Reid confirmed that rookie left tackle Josh Simmons has successfully gained weight during the offseason, describing it as beneficial 'lead' rather than unhealthy 'cheeseburger' weight.

Reid stated at training camp that Simmons is looking good after putting on weight in the last couple of months. 'I think it’ll help him... this gives him a little bit more lead in his pants, and that pays off for you,' Reid said.

The 6-foot-5 tackle, who was around 285 pounds in June, is now aiming for a weight range the team wants him to be in. After missing more games than he played during his rookie season, the Chiefs need Simmons to be healthy and ready for a full season. capturengo.org
